Universal Medical Device Nomenclature System (UMDNS)
UMDNS is a standard international nomenclature and computer coding system for medical devices used throughout ECRI Institute's publications, reports and databases. Deployed in over 90 countries by more than 5,000 institutions, it is available in several European languages and remains the most internationally used medical device coding system. The use of UMDNS is available free of charge to nonprofit organisations, governments, and device manufacturers. Registration is required via a standard license agreement available on our web site.
If you would like to subscribe to UMDNS then you must first complete and return the agreement. Click this link to download a copy of the agreement. Once you have read, completed and signed it you should send it back to our European office, either by post to the adress at the bottom of the page or by fax to +44 (0) 1707 393 138.
Please Note: If you are within Europe please DO NOT return the agreement to the address on the agreement itself, please send it to the European office directly.
