The Health Devices Inspection & Preventative Maintenance System

The Health Devices Inspection & Preventive Maintenance (IPM) System offers a comprehensive system for generating procedures and forms that can be run as a standalone system on a single PC or as a client/server system on a network.

The IPM System now provides a Windows-compatible database of over 70 ready-to-use inspection procedures and forms for more than 150 higher risk devices, and many other essential procedures. And all procedures have been reviewed, tested, and updated by ECRI Institute engineers. You can also develop your own procedures, either starting from scratch or using one of the supplied procedures as a starting point. Individual tasks can be copied and pasted between individual procedures, which can include graphics such as diagrams or graphs. Procedures can easily be imported and exported, enabling easy exchange of procedures with other IPM System users, either on an individual basis or via the ECRI Institute website. The IPM System also contains extensive information including guidance on areas such as using the system, implementing a risk-oriented IPM programme and international safety standards.

A collection of new enhancements and features helps you expedite your IPM activities:

  • A documentation and tracking system that is compliant with quality assurance standards such as ISO 9001-2000, along with ECRI Institute's expert guidance on meeting these standards. All forms and procedure documents can include your organisation's name and logo.
  • Time-saving - When you modify a procedure, the system automatically applies your changes to the related forms and procedures.
  • Customised procedures -You can combine and edit all your IPM information, including manufacturers' procedures and procedures exchanged with other IPM System users.
  • Automatic generation of IPM forms when used with ECRI Institute's HECS 4T equipment control system. You can also view and print procedure documents from within HECS.
  • Meet regulations and standards - You can face quality system audits with the assurance that your IPM development process meets today's quality standard requirements. UK users will also find the system invaluable in achieving compliance with the NHS Controls Assurance standards.
