Healthcare Product Comparison System (HPCS)
HPCS offers unique model specific comparisons across a wide range of thousands of medical devices, covering hospital, laboratory, imaging and radiology, available in paper form, on CD and on-line.
Each report contains useful details about cost containment, life cycle costings, prices/purchase considerations, standards and guidelines, supplier information, reported problems and much more. The on-line service has 'hot links' through to thousands of supplier's web sites, in addition you can also build your own model specific comparisons. HPCS on-line is updated on a continuous basis, the CD is updated every three months.
New to HPCS is the 'ECRI Institute Recommended Specifications'. These are designed to be used as generic specifications for tender documents and are found at the front of the comparison charts. They can be extracted and inserted into any hospital document for procurement purposes.
In addition, the on-line version offers the facility to compile personal model specific comparisons which can be made to include only those models that have an individual relevant interest.
